Ina Gardner is the writer of numerous popular American cookbooks on cooking. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. The show began in 2002. Ina started her career at the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policies and also the budget. She initially adored the intellectual challenge of her job, but eventually, she stopped her enthusiasm. Instead, she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty store for food. It took her 18 years to make the store extremely successful before selling it off and grabbing a pen to write her first book. Many more cookbooks, and magazines columns which came later. The Food Network TV show also made its debut, and was a huge success. She sells many items, from the ingredients needed for food preparation to kitchenware, storage and even cooking equipment. Ina was never to any cooking academy and has never had any experience in a restaurant. She's completely self-taught. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her easy culinary style is widely known. She is known for her easy recipes like Skillet Roasted Lemon Chicken Macaroni, Cheese and with Beef Bourguignon and Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
